Have you been following our events on our Facebook? What a great month we have been having so far! Here are some highlights:

We had our North Meeting on Saturday April 12. It was so good to get together with you and to see some new faces. Did you miss it? Don’t worry! We will be having another meeting on April 24 at the Kitsap Birth Collective in Port Orchard. Our very first South Meeting! (I know all you Port Orchard gals are squealing with excitement!) What does this mean? You now have two opportunities to check out carriers from our lending library. That’s right you can get one carrier at the North Meeting try it for two weeks and get a new one at the South Meeting. This is completely optional of course. You are more than welcome to keep the carrier for a whole month and return it to the same meeting you borrowed it at. Just be sure to keep track of which meeting you borrowed it from so you don’t get invoiced for a late fee for keeping it over the allotted time.

Cozy!

We had our members only wrap party on Monday April 14. These events are one of your perks as a member. Get individualized attention with your wrapping technique and learn some fun new carries. Don’t have a wrap? Never wrapped before? Don’t even know what a wrap is? This is the place for you too! This is also a great way to get to know other members as it is a much smaller group. Keep a watch out for the next members only event, you won’t want to miss it!

We have 6 VBEs (Volunteer Babywearing Educators) in our group now: Desiree Rios, Jennifer Duer, Andria Head, Shannon Brethauer, Katie (Katherine) De Lima, and Tamara Y. Keep an eye out on the blog for bios so you can get to know us better.

Now that you know what you missed, here’s what’s coming up so you don’t miss anything!

In May, we will be auctioning off some items to raise money for our lending library. All of the proceeds from the donated items will go right to building up our library so that you can have more options when it comes to checking out carriers. If you’re interested in donating an item to be auctioned off, please contact Andria Head.

Are you a member? Well be on the lookout for our first round of t-shirt sales. Members will have first dibs on placing an order for these fabulous t-shirts. This is another fundraising event for our group so snatch them up before they all disappear. Not a member yet? Quick turn your paperwork in! What are you waiting for? Still not sure? Well don’t worry, we will open up round two to non-members.

Want to capture the babywearing love on film? Contact Desiree Rios ASAP to schedule your photo shoot session for Saturday April 19. Ashley Renee Schneider of Beautiful Beginnings Birth Services has generously offered to lend her photography skills for a day of baby love and fundraising! She’ll be conducting 30-minute mini-sessions, capturing you and your little while wearing your favorite carrier, breastfeeding in nature, or just you and your family playing with your littles!

Sessions will be $30, and will include five digital (emailed) prints for you to use however you wish. Ashley will give you a signed photo release when payment has been made.

This event is a *DOUBLE FUNDRAISER*! Part of this money will go to Ashley, part to Babywearing International of Kitsap Peninsula and part to Kitsap Birth Collective! How cool is that?!

On the horizon…

Keep a lookout for upcoming play dates, meetings, and wrap parties. And as always keep wearing those babies.
