Monday, July 15th 2013, 9:30-11:30 am – Haselwood YMCA in Silverdale

Our meetings cover babywearing 101 and safety, offer one-on-one assistance, provide opportunities to try on different types of carriers, and foster community building with babywearers of all skill levels.

If you are not a member of the YMCA, and it is your first visit, please stop at the front desk to fill out a waiver form. You will need a picture ID and have your picture taken. Babywearing Play Dates:

Northern Kitsap: Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 3:00pm –  Salsbury Park in Port Gamble

Southern Kitsap:  Thursday, July 25th, 2013 at 10:00am – Belfair State Park in Belfair (since this is a state park, either a parking fee or Discovery Pass is required)
Field Day: Sunday, July 21, 2013 3:00-6:00pm – Jackson Park in Port Orchard See below for details!

First Annual Kitsap Babywearers Field Day: Sunday, July 21, 2013 3:00-6:00pm – Jackson Park in Port Orchard
Come on out with the whole family for a day of babywearing fun! It’s our big fundraiser of the summer, but it’s also a free event for everyone to come and play!
There will be babywearing themed games such as a babywearing relay race, and woven wrap tug-o-war! We will have babywearing competitions for moms and dads! For a $5 entry fee, moms will compete against each other in a carry-a-thon. How many carries and/or carriers can you put your little one in before the timer goes off?! Winner will receive a FREE one-year family membership to Kitsap Babywearers.* And for a $5 entry fee for dads, we will have an obstacle course for them to safely maneuver while babywearing! Winner will receive a $10 gift card.  *If your family has already purchased a year-long membership before Field Day, you will be credited another year.

We will also have a big raffle! The exciting prizes include hand-painted wood letters designed by Hayley Reid, two terry fitted cloth diapers by Simply Sweet Cloth Diapering Co., a full size Keep it Lite facial moisturizer from Beauty Society (donated by Angelyna Welch), and three pairs of baby legs by Natalie Meyer. Our grand prizes are a free henna session by Brandy Stuart for either belly henna, or a henna session for two ($150 value), and  a free wrap conversion by King Konversions ($125 value)! We are planning on all the funds raised to go toward purchasing more carriers for our lending library! TICKETS are $1 each, 7 for $5, or 15 for $10. Snacks and refreshments will also be available for sale!

Membership and Lending Library
We are excited to announce that we have membership available for Kitsap Babywearers starting this month! What’s membership for you ask? Membership gets you access to our new lending library. You can check out carriers from our lending library to actually take home and wear with your little one for the month to try out. Also, as a member, you will be invited to private wrap parties where you can come practice your wrapping skills in a small group setting, and get more personalized, one-on-one assistance. Memberships will be $30 (plus any applicable Paypal fees) for a family for a year. Forms for membership and the lending library agreement will be available in our Facebook group, and on our blog before our next monthly meeting. We recommend you print out, read through, and sign these forms to bring to the meeting. Membership fees will be paid via Paypal.
Some of the carriers we already have available in our lending library include several Sakura Bloom ring slings, a Boba, Moby wrap, an ActiveBaby water ring sling, and some Infantino mei tais. We have a Tula coming our way this fall, among other carriers, and hopefully we’ll be able to make several wrap purchases following Field Day!
